Tadepalli: Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Sunday alleged that party candidates were being prevented from filing nominations, raising concerns over the conduct of the nomination process in the state.
Jagan claimed that large numbers of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) workers were present at nomination centres when candidates arrived to submit their papers, allegedly with the police facilitating their presence. He alleged that YSRCP candidates, in contrast, were permitted to enter the premises with only four people accompanying them.

According to Jagan, nomination papers of YSRCP candidates were snatched and torn at the centres, preventing them from completing the filing process. He further alleged that these incidents took place in the presence of police personnel, who failed to intervene.
Describing the situation as a matter of serious concern, the YSRCP chief alleged that candidates were being denied the opportunity to participate in the electoral process fairly.
