Bengaluru: BJP MLC C.T. Ravi has demanded a judicial inquiry into the alleged atrocities against ABVP workers who were protesting over irregularities in KPSC recruitment.
Speaking at the BJP office in Malleshwaram, Ravi demanded the immediate release of the arrested student activists. He accused the government of treating protesters in an “inhuman” manner when they were seeking an impartial investigation into alleged corruption and injustice.
Ravi also questioned the handling of the case involving IAS officer Gyanendra E.D., alleging that the officer had not been traced for questioning. He criticised the Home Minister for making different statements on the issue.
On Bengaluru’s green spaces, Ravi alleged that the government was attempting to dilute the original purpose of public parks. He claimed that after gomala lands and lakes, parks had now come under the alleged threat of real estate interests.
He said Bengaluru lacked sufficient scope to create new parks comparable to Lalbagh and Cubbon Park, and stressed the need to protect existing green spaces.
“Parks and playgrounds should not become victims of the greed of the real estate mafia,” Ravi said.
On the voter list issue, Ravi said the names of genuine voters should not be removed, while illegal voters should not be added.
He also opposed any attempt to regularise allegedly illegal voters through Permanent Resident Certificates (PRCs) and demanded strict measures to ensure the integrity of electoral rolls.
