New Delhi: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussed several development projects in the state, including the proposed Godavari–Cauvery river interlinking project.
In a post on X, Naidu said the meeting provided an opportunity to discuss important developments and projects in Andhra Pradesh. He highlighted the potential of the Godavari–Cauvery link to strengthen water security and support the development of southern states.
The proposed river interlinking project aims to improve water availability by facilitating the transfer of water between river basins. Its implementation would depend on the necessary planning, clearances and coordination among the concerned states and authorities.

Naidu also sought the Prime Minister’s support for the successful conduct of the Godavari Pushkaralu in Andhra Pradesh in 2027.
The Godavari Pushkaralu is a major religious event associated with the Godavari river and attracts large numbers of pilgrims. The state government is expected to focus on arrangements for devotees and the facilities required for the event.
Naidu’s meeting with Modi comes amid the state’s efforts to advance infrastructure and development initiatives, with water management remaining an important issue for Andhra Pradesh and other southern states.
