Bengaluru: The Karnataka government plans to shift Bengaluru’s entire Transferable Development Rights (TDR) system to a digital platform to improve transparency, curb delays and accelerate road infrastructure projects.
Greater Bengaluru Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda has directed officials to digitise every stage of the process, from applications and verification to certificate issuance, purchase, sale and utilisation.
Chairing a meeting with senior officials at Vikas Soudha, the minister called for a single online platform to enable end-to-end tracking of TDR transactions and eliminate paperwork and repeated visits to government offices.

The proposed system is also expected to reduce middlemen’s interference and improve accountability.
Gowda said a streamlined and transparent TDR mechanism would facilitate faster land acquisition for road widening and new road construction, helping speed up Bengaluru’s infrastructure projects and address traffic congestion.
