Dholpur, June 23 (IANS) Renowned spiritual narrator Devkinandan Thakur on Tuesday commented on the Ram Mandir donation theft controversy, saying that if the allegations are found to be true, both the Uttar Pradesh government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the Central government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi will ensure justice.

He also reiterated his demand that the administration of the Ram Temple should be overseen by the Shankaracharyas.

Speaking to reporters, Devkinandan Thakur said, “The way these matters are coming to light and the information that is emerging, if it is true, then CM Yogi’s government and PM Modi’s government will certainly ensure justice. Those who may have committed wrongdoing in the name of Lord Ram, if they have indeed done so, will be exposed once the investigation is completed.”

Referring to his earlier demand for a Sanatan Board, Thakur said, “You must have seen and reported extensively during the Kumbh Mela that I had demanded the formation of a Sanatan Board. I continue to believe that such a Board should be established. There should not be any government official involved in the management of the Ram Temple.”

He further stated, “The Ram Temple should be administered according to the guidance of the Shankaracharyas. Which follower of Sanatan Dharma does not respect them? At the same time, people should understand that temple funds must not be misused, and if they are, there should be consequences. I believe such measures will ultimately serve the interests of Sanatan Dharma.”

Earlier on Monday, a fresh Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed before the Supreme Court seeking the registration of an FIR and a court-monitored investigation by a CBI-led Special Investigation Team (SIT) into allegations of financial irregularities, missing funds, and mismanagement in the affairs of the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.

The petition, filed under Article 32 of the Constitution by advocates Ajay Kumar Rai and Dinesh Kumar Yadav, seeks directions for a “fair, impartial, comprehensive, and time-bound investigation” into allegations concerning donations and funds received for the construction and administration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

On June 19, Yogi Adityanath stated that the SIT constituted to probe the alleged embezzlement related to the Ram Temple would uncover the truth without any doubt. He also urged devotees not to be influenced by attempts to tarnish the image of the temple and the holy city of Ayodhya.
