Mangaluru: The Inayat Ali Fans’ Association organised a Diwali celebration in Kavoor, highlighting the values of humanity, coexistence and interfaith harmony.
The event honoured Rajyotsava award recipients, Anganwadi workers and office-bearers of various organisations with shawls, traditional turbans, mementos and silver coins. Financial assistance was also provided to families struggling to meet wedding expenses.
Go puja and a competition-cum-exhibition of traditional gudu deepas were among the highlights.

Speaking at the event, Dakshina Kannada District Congress president Padmaraj R Poojary said Diwali was not just about lighting lamps but also about spreading love, humanity and harmony.
Conceptualised by Inayat Ali, the annual celebration brings people from different religious communities together while recognising achievers and supporting families in need.
A musical programme led by playback singer and actor Naveen Sajju added to the celebrations. Poojary said Sajju’s songs carried a message of humanity.
