Bengaluru: Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar is fully aware of the ‘sting operation’ allegations made by Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, and the government will handle the matter appropriately, Deputy Chief Minister G. Parameshwara said.

Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru, Parameshwara said the Chief Minister was apprised of all the details and had the support of the government.

“The Chief Minister is aware of all the details, and we all stand in support of him. The ‘sting operation’ issue is being blown out of proportion. The government itself will provide an appropriate response,” he said.

Parameshwara also expressed concern over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, alleging that the names of approximately 1.08 crore voters across various categories had been deleted in Karnataka.

He said the Congress’s primary objection was that eligible voters had also been removed from the electoral rolls during the exercise.

Parameshwara added that the SIR process was not limited to Karnataka, claiming that voter names had been deleted in several other parts of the country as well. He said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had raised the issue at the national level.
