Hyderabad: Six people, including five women, were killed and 20 others injured after a private bus collided with a container truck in Telangana’s Suryapet district on Wednesday morning.
The accident occurred at Dwarakunt in Kodad mandal on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada National Highway. The private bus was travelling from Hyderabad to Eluru via Vijayawada when it reportedly rammed into a container truck parked on the roadside.
Police said the truck may have first hit the road divider before coming to a halt. The speeding bus then crashed into the rear of the truck, severely damaging the front portion of the bus.

There were 42 passengers on board at the time of the accident. Six people died at the spot, while 20 injured passengers were shifted to the Kodad government hospital for treatment.
Police have launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances that led to the collision.
Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy expressed condolences to the families of those killed and directed officials to ensure that the injured receive the best possible medical treatment.
