Patna, Jan 16 (IANS) Patna District Magistrate Thiyagarajan S.M. has dismissed revenue employee Raja Kumar from service with immediate effect on charges of corruption.

The dismissal has created a stir in the department. The Vigilance Department is continuously running a campaign against corrupt officers and employees involved in bribery.

The employee was posted at the Masaurhi Circle Office and was under suspension at the time of dismissal.

Raja Kumar was arrested on December 23, 2025, from the premises of the Masaurhi Block Office by a raid team of the Vigilance Department.

He was accused of serious irregularities, including arbitrary functioning, deliberate delays in mutation and land record correction processes, and making undue monetary demands from applicants.

Following his arrest in connection with corruption charges, a charge-sheet was prepared and submitted by the Circle Officer, Masaurhi.

According to the District Magistrate, proper disciplinary proceedings were conducted against the accused employee.

The Additional Collector, Patna, was appointed as the Inquiry Officer, while the Circle Officer, Masaurhi, served as the Presenting Officer.

After completion of the inquiry, all charges framed against Raja Kumar were found to be fully substantiated.

The District Magistrate stated that the charges were of a very serious nature and that Raja Kumar’s conduct was in violation of the Bihar Service Code.

“Despite being given adequate opportunity to present his defence, the accused failed to offer any satisfactory explanation,” Thiyagarajan said in a written statement.

The District Magistrate further noted that Raja Kumar’s continuation in service was against public interest.

Consequently, he has been dismissed from service with immediate effect under the Bihar Government Servants (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 2005.

Reiterating the state government’s stance, the Patna District Magistrate said there is a zero-tolerance policy on corruption, which is being strictly enforced by the district administration.

“Any form of corruption, negligence, laxity, or irregularity in the discharge of official duties will not be tolerated,” the District Magistrate said.
