Kolar: Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on Tuesday questioned the basis of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s claims regarding the deletion of voters’ names from electoral rolls, asking what information the CM possessed when verification of the applications had not yet begun.
Speaking to reporters after attending the Kempe Gowda Jayanti celebrations in Mulbagal, Kumaraswamy said the discussion surrounding the issue following the commencement of the SIR process was a positive development.
He said applications seeking deletion of around 90,000 voters’ names had reportedly been received, but the verification and subsequent procedures were yet to begin. Kumaraswamy questioned what information the Chief Minister had and on what basis protests were being held outside the Election Commission office in New Delhi.

Kumaraswamy targets Yettinahole project
Kumaraswamy also criticised the Yettinahole comprehensive drinking water project, alleging that the project had not progressed beyond Hassan district.
He said those who had earlier promised to bring 10 TMC ft of water had now reduced the target to 2 TMC ft. He alleged that the project had been repeatedly postponed over the past two years with assurances that it would be completed “next year”.
Kumaraswamy demanded that the state government present details of its achievements during its first 100 days in office. He also sought clarification on whether adequate funds had been allocated for schemes announced by the government, including ‘Sadhruda Sankalpa’.
