Bengaluru: The Karnataka BJP has strongly criticized the Congress-led state government for organizing the ‘Jana Spandana’ outreach program at the state legislature, denouncing it as a reflection of the collapse of the state administration.

Opposition leader R. Ashoka voiced his concerns on Thursday, asserting, “Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, you are portraying this event as a significant achievement of the state government. However, in reality, it exposes the breakdown of the administrative machinery in the state.”

Ashoka highlighted the extensive bureaucratic infrastructure in place, including 34 cabinet ministers, district in-charge ministers, heads of boards and corporations, as well as district commissioners and CEOs of zilla panchayats and gram panchayats. Despite these resources, he argued, the fact that individuals from remote villages must travel to the state legislature and wait all day to present their grievances to the CM reflects poor governance.

“Certainly, CM Siddaramaiah, you are exploiting the hardships of these people queued up for solutions for the sake of cheap publicity. This is a matter of shame,” Ashoka added.

Rather than staging publicity stunts through the ‘Jana Spandana’ program, Ashoka urged CM Siddaramaiah to instruct ministers and district in-charge ministers to visit taluk and district centers to directly address people’s grievances. He suggested that MLAs, along with district collectors and zilla panchayat CEOs, should engage with the public and offer immediate solutions on-site.
