Jaipur, Sep 10 (IANS) A Chartered Accountant (CA), Rajiv Gupta, was allegedly kidnapped from Jaipur’s Central Park in broad daylight and forced into his Mercedes car that the criminals took control of. The vehicle later collided with a motorcycle on the Delhi Road in Amer area while the accused were allegedly trying to flee, before overturning and plunging into a drain. The two accused allegedly escaped from the spot, leaving behind a fake pistol and a knife.

Following the incident, police launched a search operation and set up a blockade in the surrounding area.

Amer Station House Officer (SHO), Rajendra Godara, and his team reached the accident site and inspected the abandoned Mercedes.

According to Gupta’s statement to the police, he visits Central Park every morning at around 6:30 a.m. for a morning walk. On Thursday morning, at around 7:30 a.m., he exited the park through Gate No. 4 to return home.

When Gupta reached his car in the parking area and opened the door, one of the accused, allegedly armed with a pistol, got into the back seat.

Before Gupta could understand what was happening, the second accused allegedly pushed him out of the driver’s seat, brandished a knife and took control of the vehicle.

The two accused then drove away with Gupta in the car, towards Amer.

Gupta told police that the car was being driven at high speed. During the journey, both men allegedly threatened him to keep quiet and warned him that they would kill him.

The accused seated in the back allegedly kept the pistol pointed at Gupta. According to Gupta, both accused appeared to be between 25 and 30-years-old.

As the vehicle was being driven towards Amer, Gupta allegedly began screaming from the car window. At that time the Mercedes collided with a motorcycle on Delhi Road, lost control, overturned and plunged into a drain. The two accused allegedly fled the scene after the crash, abandoning the vehicle.

Upon receiving information about the accident, Amer SHO Rajendra Godara reached the spot. Gupta then informed him about the alleged abduction.

Police immediately set up a blockade in the surrounding area and began searching for the suspects. During a search of the abandoned Mercedes, police recovered a fake pistol and a knife.

The vehicle was subsequently impounded and taken to the police station. Gupta was later informed that the incident fell under the jurisdiction of Ashok Nagar Police Station and that the FIR would, therefore, have to be registered there. He subsequently lodged a complaint at the Ashok Nagar police station.

Meanwhile, Ashok Nagar police are examining CCTV footage from the crime scene and surrounding areas to determine where the two accused came from and which route they took while fleeing.

Investigators are also attempting to identify the suspects based on the physical descriptions provided by Gupta.

Police teams from Ashok Nagar and Amer are jointly investigating the case.

Investigators are examining CCTV footage and other evidence to establish the sequence of events and identify the two suspects. Efforts are underway to apprehend the accused.

The incident has raised concern in Jaipur, particularly as the alleged abduction took place in broad daylight in the Central Park area.
