
New Delhi, May 31 (IANS) Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Harsh Malhotra on Sunday led party workers and citizens in listening to the 134th edition of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Mann Ki Baat” programme at nearly 7,568 booths across the national capital.
According to Rajan Tiwari, Convener of the “Mann Ki Baat” Programme Organising Team in Delhi, Malhotra listened to the programme along with senior BJP workers at a training camp in the Keshavpuram district.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta attended the programme at the NCUI Auditorium on Khel Gaon Marg along with local resident welfare associations and BJP office-bearers.
The event was held in the presence of New Delhi BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj during inaugurations of development works and a review meeting organised by senior MLA Satish Upadhyay in the Malviya Nagar Assembly constituency.
Outgoing Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva, after addressing a training camp session in Chandni Chowk district in the presence of MP Praveen Khandelwal, also listened to the Prime Minister’s “Mann Ki Baat” programme with senior district workers.
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari listened to the programme on Sunday with local residents in Sonia Vihar.
South Delhi MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri and Delhi BJP General Secretary Vishnu Mittal listened to the programme at the BJP National Headquarters.
After listening to Prime Minister Modi’s “Mann Ki Baat” programme, Malhotra told the media that PM Modi is a national leader who communicates directly with the people of the country.
“Through this programme, PM Modi has initiated an effort not only to highlight significant national developments but also to identify and showcase talent emerging from every corner of India,” thje Delhi BJP President said.
Malhotra added that with the summer season underway, PM spoke about traditional methods to stay protected from heat, whether it is by drinking Aam Panna or consuming Sattu.
He said that “Mann Ki Baat” has become such a significant event that just as people once eagerly awaited the Sunday telecast of the television serial ‘Ramayan’, today households across the country look forward to listening to the programme on the last Sunday of every month.
