Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday targeted Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis over the recent attack on actor Tiger Shroff, questioning how the assailants managed to bring weapons to the city and alleging that the government’s response was aimed at gaining publicity.

Speaking at the party’s Dussehra rally in Mumbai, Thackeray asked whether Fadnavis had rushed to meet the actor to draw attention to himself. He questioned the circumstances that enabled the attackers to bring weapons to the location.

“This is not an act worthy of a Shaurya Medal,” Thackeray said, adding that a more decisive response would have been warranted had the attackers been shot as soon as they arrived.

Thackeray also referred to claims about the network of the Bishnoi gang, remarking that its members were “sitting around eating dhokla” while allegedly claiming to have 70,000 people in their network.

Challenging Fadnavis, he said the chief minister should go to Delhi and directly confront the gang’s leadership if he had the courage to do so.
