New Delhi, Sep 14 (IANS) Delhi Lieutenant Governor T.S. Sandhu on Monday met Police Commissioner Anurag Kumar and appreciated the law enforcers’ efforts that ensured a smooth hosting of the three-day BRICS events over the weekend.
In a message on X, Lok Niwas said, “Anurag Kumar, Commissioner of Police, @DelhiPolice, called on Hon’ble LG Sardar @SandhuTaranjitS at @LokNiwasDelhi today.”
“The Hon’ble LG congratulated him and the entire Delhi Police team for their exemplary professionalism and dedication in ensuring seamless security and coordination during the 18th BRICS Summit in Delhi. Their commitment ensured Delhi hosted this global gathering smoothly, safely and with pride,” said the Lok Niwas in its message.
Just before the BRICS Summit, L-G Sandhu launched the upgraded website of the Delhi Traffic Police, providing citizens with a simpler, more interactive, informative, accessible and secure way to access traffic-related information and services online.
The upgraded website, dedicated to the public on September 10, reflects Delhi Traffic Police’s continuing effort to use technology not merely to provide information, but to make everyday interaction with traffic services simpler and more convenient for citizens, an official statement said.
Speaking on the occasion, Lieutenant Governor Sandhu emphasised that the platform must go beyond being an administrative interface and become an interactive hub for road safety awareness, civic education and proactive citizen participation.
He stressed upon the importance of using technology to make public services more accessible, efficient and responsive to citizens’ needs.
“Designed around the everyday needs of commuters, the revamped website is user-friendly and can be accessed on mobile phones easily. It facilitates citizens to conveniently access information and services through mobile phones, tablets and other devices,” the statement said.
The website enables any citizen to not only access and become aware of the challans issued against his/her vehicle by keying in the vehicle number, but also provides the option of paying the amount pertaining to the challan through a QR code.
