Hyderabad, Sep 6 (IANS) Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Sunday congratulated Mahesh Kumar Goud on completing two years as President of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC).

“Heartiest congratulations to MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud on completing two years as PCC President—a journey that saw him rise from an ordinary party worker to the helm of the state party,” the Chief Minister said in a social media post.

“The decision to entrust the reins of the Telangana Congress to a leader from the BC community was not merely about assigning a post; it stands as a testament to the Congress party’s commitment to social justice,” said the Chief Minister.

Revanth Reddy stated that since assuming this responsibility, Mahesh Kumar Goud has been doing commendable work—strengthening the party and standing by its cadres—under the leadership of AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge and the guidance of Rahul Gandhi.

“Wishing Mahesh Kumar Goud continued success and hoping he achieves many more milestones in public service with the same dedication,” he added.

Minister for transport and BC welfare, Ponnam Prabhakar, also congratulated Mahesh Kumar Goud on completing two successful years as the TPCC President.

“Your journey from NSUI President to TPCC President is a testament to your unwavering commitment, hard work and dedication to the Congress party. Rising through the ranks from the student movement to leading the state party organisation is truly inspirational to every Congress worker. Your leadership has strengthened the party at the grassroots and motivated thousands of young leaders and party workers across Telangana. Wishing you continued success and many more years of dedicated service to the Congress party and the people of Telangana,” Prabhakar said in a post on X.

The party said in a post on the occasion that during these two years as TPCC President, Mahesh Kumar Goud united the cadre and strengthened the Congress party at the grassroots level.

Under his leadership, the party took ‘People’s Governance’ initiatives to the public through direct, face-to-face interactions. He provided strong political support for social justice for BCs and the categorisation of SCs, the party said.

“Striving to establish the Congress as an even more powerful force in Telangana by 2029,” it added.

Meanwhile, Mahesh Kumar Goud on Sunday slammed Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) President K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) for not coming to the Assembly.

Addressing a ‘Maha Dharna’ organised by TPCC in Hyderabad to demand KCR’s resignation as the Leader of Opposition, he asked the former Chief Minister about his role as the opposition leader.

“If you can’t come to the Assembly, don’t come, but resign from your post for not discharging your responsibilities,” he told KCR.

The TPCC chief said the BRS president should not insult the public mandate by not attending the Assembly.
