Bengaluru: Ahead of Thiru Onam on August 26, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has announced special bus services from Bengaluru to Kerala to meet the expected festive travel rush.
KSRTC will operate 90 additional buses from Bengaluru to major destinations in Kerala from August 21 to 25. Special services will also be operated on August 30 for passengers travelling back from Kerala to Bengaluru.
Services will be available from the Mysuru Road Bus Stand and Shanthinagar Bus Stand to key destinations including Kannur, Kozhikode, Ernakulam, Palakkad, Thrissur, Kottayam and Thiruvananthapuram. Some premium services will also operate from the BMTC bus stand at Shanthinagar.
Discounts offered on advance bookings
Passengers can book tickets in advance for the special services. KSRTC has announced a 5% discount for groups of four or more passengers booking together. Those booking both onward and return tickets together will receive a 10% discount on the return fare.
Tickets can be booked through the official KSRTC website and advance reservation counters.
The corporation has advised passengers to carefully check the boarding point and bus stop mentioned on their tickets before travelling.
Advance booking facilities are also available at KSRTC counters in major cities across Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Goa, Maharashtra and Puducherry, according to the Chief Traffic Manager.
