
Mumbai, July 1 (IANS) Bollywood star Jackie Shroff expressed heartfelt gratitude to legendary flautist Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia on his 88th birthday.
He also thanked him for creating the unforgettable flute melody from his debut film ‘Hero’.
Taking to his social media account, Jackie shared a picture of the maestro playing the flute. Dressed in a saffron kurta with a tilak on his forehead, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, in the picture is seen deeply immersed in his performance while holding his iconic bansuri.
Alongside the picture, Jackie wrote, “Happiness Always, Shri Hariprasad ji! Thank you for your unforgettable Hero flute melody—it has a permanent place in my heart. Your music doesn’t just touch my soul; it truly reflects the divine spirit of Lord Krishna’s bansuri.”
Jackie also used the iconic flute theme from his 1983 blockbuster ‘Hero’, performed by Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, as the background music for his birthday tribute.
Talking about the legend Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, who turned 88 on July 1, is regarded as one of India’s greatest classical musicians.
The legend is a recipient of the Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan, and the bansuri maestro has mesmerised audiences across the globe for decades.
He has also composed memorable film scores, including under the duo Shiv-Hari with the late Pandit Shivkumar Sharma, delivering timeless music for films such as ‘Silsila’, ‘Chandni’, ‘Lamhe’ and ‘Darr’.
Talking about Jackie Shroff, the actor is among the few Bollywood personalities who never fails to remember and acknowledge the birthdays and special occasions of colleagues and industry veterans through heartfelt social media posts.
On the work front, Jackie made his lead debut with Subhash Ghai’s 1983 blockbuster ‘Hero’, opposite Meenakshi Seshadri.
Over the years, he has appeared in many acclaimed films, including ‘Ram Lakhan’, ‘Parinda’, ‘Gardish’, ‘1942: A Love Story’, ‘Rangeela’, ‘Mission Kashmir’ and ‘Devdas’ amongst many others.
