Los Angeles, June 30 (IANS) Hollywood actress Jodie Turner-Smith has exceptional parenting skills. The actress has shared how she talks to her daughter about a challenging topic.
The actress spoke about how she navigates discussing her and Joshua Jackson’s divorce with their 6-year-old daughter Juno, reports ‘People’ magazine.
She told Hoda Kotb on ‘Joy 101’ podcast, “I’m a child of divorce myself, and so is my ex-husband. So it’s like it’s always been important to think about, ‘Okay, what is the language around which we are going to talk about this with our daughter?’. Because it is her new reality”
She went on, “We’re learning as well and not always getting it totally right, but the idea is always two homes filled with love. And I’m like, ‘You got two houses, girl’”.
The actress said navigating the conversations can be “difficult,” as she wants to find a balance between “being age appropriate and child-centered in the way that you talk about it”.
She said “keeping it real” is also important so that Juno “has an understanding of what this means”.
As per ‘People’, the actress, who finalized her divorce from Jackson in May 2025, said one of her “favorite tools” to use in these conversations is books.
“I read her so many books about divorce, about what that means. About what that new world is, about what is supposed to be happening, what’s not supposed to be happening. Children’s books have been helpful as well”, she added.
Turner-Smith’s comments come two months after it was confirmed that the former couple was using a private judge to finalize their custody arrangements, almost a year after finalizing their divorce.
When Jackson and Turner-Smith finalized their divorce in May 2025, the two agreed that Jackson would pay $2,787 in monthly child support.
