Mumbai, June 9 (IANS) Veteran actress Shabana Azmi, on Tuesday, shared a heartwarming glimpse of her long-standing friendship with acclaimed filmmaker and actress Aparna Sen.

She posted a candid picture together and expressed her affection towards her best friend.

Taking to her social media account, Shabana shared a picture featuring herself and Aparna Sen warmly embracing each other.

Shabana, in her caption highlighted that the picture was clicked by Aparna’s daughter and actress-filmmaker Konkona Sen Sharma.

Alongside the picture, Shabana wrote, “I just love her. With my lovely friend #Aparna Sen. Photo by #Konkona Sen.”

In the picture, Shabana is seen dressed in a white embroidered kurta, while Aparna is seen standing behind her with her arms wrapped affectionately around the actress.

For the uninitiated, Shabana and Aparna have shared a close bond through the years. The two stalwarts have collaborated on several notable projects, including Aparna Sen’s acclaimed films ‘Sati’, ’15 Park Avenue’ and ‘Sonata’.

Talking about Aparna Sen, she is considered as one of India’s most celebrated filmmakers and actresses. The Padma Shri awardee has directed acclaimed films such as ’36 Chowringhee Lane’, ‘Paroma’, ‘Mr. and Mrs. Iyer’, ’15 Park Avenue’, ‘The Japanese Wife’, ‘Goynar Baksho’ and ‘The Rapist’. Over a career spanning more than six decades, she has earned numerous National Film Awards and is also the mother of National Award-winning actress and filmmaker Konkona Sen Sharma.

Talking about Shabana Azmi, the actress is regarded as one of the finest actors in Indian cinema. She made her debut with Shyam Benegal’s ‘Ankur’ in 1974 and went on to deliver acclaimed performances in films such as ‘Arth’, ‘Masoom’, ‘Paar’, ‘Fire’, ‘Godmother’, ‘Makdee’, ‘Morning Raga’, ‘Neerja’ and ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’. Shabana, who is a five-time National Award winner, has also been a prominent social activist and former Rajya Sabha member.
